Evin Deshawn

Director of community outreach

Evin DeShawn (he/him) is the Director of Community Outreach at IMPACT405, LLC. Growing up in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Evin learned the importance of compassion and community from an early age, values that were instilled in him by his mother and grandmother. Coming from humble beginnings, he found his voice and a means of self-expression through creativity and imagination—tools that helped him navigate the challenges of his environment. Today, these same principles guide his work as a leader in community outreach and as an advocate for marginalized groups.

Evin's personal journey has been shaped by the struggles of growing up in the projects and witnessing the impact of drugs, alcohol, and poverty on his family and community. Yet, it was his mother’s determination to pursue her dreams, despite their environment, that inspired Evin to believe that anything is possible. This resilience and ambition have driven him to make an impact, not just for himself, but for others who are fighting similar battles.

As Director of Community Outreach at IMPACT405, Evin works closely with underserved communities to understand their needs and create safe spaces where open connections can flourish. His ability to connect with people, build trust, and foster meaningful relationships is central to his role. Evin’s work is focused on bringing the community together and ensuring they have access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.

Evin's professional accomplishments extend far beyond his role at IMPACT405. He is a published fashion stylist and creative director, as well as a producer of music, television, and stage. Notably, he made history by bringing ballroom culture to Oklahoma, opening doors for more artistic expression in Oklahoma City. His work in the arts is deeply intertwined with his commitment to community-building, providing platforms for underrepresented voices in both fashion and creative spaces.

In addition to his artistic achievements, Evin is a passionate advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, youth empowerment, and the promotion of arts and music. He is actively involved in several community initiatives, including the Oklahoma Pride Alliance, Black Queer Tulsa, Velvet Rope Productions, and CRW TV Productions. Through these projects, Evin has been instrumental in creating spaces where marginalized groups can gather, express themselves, and access vital resources.

Evin’s long-term vision is clear: to continue showing the power and importance of community and service. He believes in the strength of building connections and creating opportunities for people to be seen and heard for their unique contributions. By fostering spaces for collaboration and creative expression, Evin ensures that the voices of marginalized communities are amplified and valued.

At IMPACT405, Evin is committed to advancing the organization’s mission by demonstrating how we can show up for each other and work together to build stronger, more connected communities. He sees his work as more than just outreach—it’s about creating a movement where people come together, support one another, and have access to the resources they need to succeed.

For Evin DeShawn, the work is personal and deeply rooted in his belief that by showing up for each other, we can create lasting change. Through his role at IMPACT405, he is building more than connections—he is building a future where community is at the heart of everything we do.
